In this post I will continue to look at the fantastic activities that students learning English at Oxford English Academy in Oxford can take part in. My recommendations are based on TripAdvisor’s Top 10 Rated activities in Oxford and today we look at 7, 6 and 5.
7. Bodleian Library: This library is bound to amaze all visitors. It is the main reference library for the University of Oxford and contains 12 million items, which makes it the second largest library in the UK. The library occupies 5 buildings and visitors can take part in a guided tour, showcasing the magnificence, beauty and history of each building. As with many buildings in an around Oxford, the library has also been used as a location for parts of the Harry Potter movies.
6. Creation Theatre Company: The theatre company is a baby, surrounded by so many old buildings and institutions in Oxford. Established in 1996, the company produces theatrical pieces to delight its audiences. The company does not have a theatre but performs in interesting venues around Oxford such as in parks and open public spaces. Audiences can see classical pieces, revisited and reimagined, with wonderful and amusing effect. And be sure not to miss their renditions of Shakespeare’s’ plays, which are always hugely popular with audiences.
5. Walking and Bike Tours: Oxford is best seen on foot or by cycle and there are many different tours to choose from! Each tour has its own flavour and you can choose to take a river tour, a ghost tour, a university tour and of course a Harry Potter tour!
