For the past two weeks I have been to Johannesburg and Durban and I have to say the heat is definitely a force to be reckoned with. I miss the sunny yet still breezy weather of Cape Town, where you don’t want to go jogging because it’s too windy instead of not going because the weather is too dense. Maybe I’m just too lazy to jog. During a beautiful sunny day in Cape Town the best thing to do would be to go to the Watershed at the V&A Waterfront, it’s a beautiful market space like a fancy makro, because they have everything from the most delicious empanada to the most beautiful necklace. So grab some empanadas, spring rolls, Cronuts and a couple Kopparberg ciders and chill outside watching the ships board. If you are my sister you would probably get a salad and some bubble tea just because you are being adventurous. After a delicious lunch and light afternoon buzz the best place to go next is the Cape Town Comedy Club where you would have to have a skin as thick as a dragon’s if you are planning on sitting in front, but you will be thoroughly entertained. As a foreigner it would be the best place to pick up on some South African culture and jokes. Just make sure that you aren’t stereotypical and exercise your core muscles without breaking a sweat, but I’m not promising that you will be seeing abs anytime soon. The Comedy Club opens at 18:00 and starts at 20:30, so if you don’t want to spend your whole day at the Waterfront the best plan would be to arrive at 12:00 with enough time to decide what you want to eat and then maybe leave at 17:00. You can also grab some groceries if needed and go to the Comedy Club.
